Computex 2015 | MSI unveils redesigned GP62
MSI is showing a slew of new devices this year at Computex from their updated Prestige series to the GamingDock Mini docking station. Now, the manufacturer is finally updating the aging GP60 to the GP62 with new internals and a much needed redesign.
While MSI can't confirm with us the exact Core i7 configurations, we can be sure to expect the 15.6-inch notebook to carry a 1080p display, GTX 950M GPU with 2 GB GDDR5 VRAM, and multiple storage options spanning a 256 GB SSD to a 1 TB HDD. Connectivity options include both USB 2.0 and 3.0, mini DisplayPort, and HDMI. At 2.3 kg, it is also quite light for its size class.
The GP62 will ship with Windows 8.1, but no word yet on exact availability.

After graduating with a B.S. in environmental hydrodynamics from the University of California, I studied reactor physics to become licensed by the U.S. NRC to operate nuclear reactors. There's a striking level of appreciation you gain for everyday consumer electronics after working with modern nuclear reactivity systems astonishingly powered by computers from the 80s. When I'm not managing day-to-day activities and US review articles on Notebookcheck, you can catch me following the eSports scene and the latest gaming news.
