MSI has unveiled a brand-new fanless SBC with relatively powerful Intel chips, dubbed the MS-CF19. Pricing and availability details are unclear as of this writing, although the offering has been fully detailed. The 3.5-inch SBC is truly compact, and its passively cooled design allows for silent operation.
The MS-CF19 single-board computer will be available with Intel's Core Ultra 100U and 200U chips paired with up to 96 GB of DDR5 memory housed in dual SODIMM slots. At the highest end, we have the Core Ultra 7 265U "Arrow Lake-U" chip with 12 cores and 14 threads, promising synthetic performance that is in the same league as the Apple M2.
Other CPU options include chips from Meteor Lake-U (Core Ultra 7 165/155U, Core Ultra 5 135/125U) and Arrow Lake-U (Core Ultra 5 235/225U). Although the system is intended to be fanless, LinuxGizmos managed to spot a fan header, likely intended for customers who prefer active cooling. As can be expected from an SBC aimed at industrial use, the MS-CF19 packs a plethora of communication, expansion, and networking options, which have been detailed below:
- 1G Ethernet, 2.5G Ethernet
- M.2 2280 for PCIe Gen4 x4 SSDs, such as the Kingston V3 (curr. $130.53 on Amazon)
- M.2 2230, M.2 2242/3042, SATA 3.0
- Four USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
- Four USB 2.0 Type-A (internal)
- 4x GPI, 4x GPO
- Dual COM ports (internal)
- Dual eDP, dual DP for a total of four display outputs
As mentioned earlier, pricing details for the MS-CF19 SBC are unclear as of this writing. For more information regarding the product, interested customers can refer to its official product page over at MSI's official website.
