Tiny 2.5-inch single-board computer sports up to 32 GB DDR5 RAM and 8-core CPU

MSI has introduced a new 3.5" SBC with Intel's Alder Lake-N, Twin Lake, and Amston Lake CPUs. The SBC also offers a whole bunch of useful I/O, which is to be expected from a product aimed primarily at enterprise and hobbyist usage.
The MS-CF27 SBC offers 4-core and 8-core Intel CPU options
The SBC can be equipped with up to an 8-core Intel Core i3 N305 CPU. Lower-end 4-core CPU options are also available, namely the N97, N150, and Atom x7433RE CPUs. The Core i3 N305 is no slouch, and can easily keep up with older laptop CPUs such as the Core i7 11390H in multicore performance.
For moderately demanding tasks, the 8-core variant of the MS-CF27 SBC should perform well enough. The lower-end 4-core variants should only be good enough for lightweight tasks.

A single SODIMM slot is present, which can accommodate up to 32 GB of DDR5-4800 RAM (currently $349 on Amazon). Storage is handled by a single M.2 slot, as well as a SATA 3.0 port. The I/O on offer is definitely quite impressive, especially from a networking point of view:
- Single USB 3.2 Gen 2, five USB 2.0 (four are internal)
- Six COM (internal), 8-bit GPIO
- DisplayPort, HDMI, LVDS/eDP
- Four 1G Ethernet
- M.2 B, M.2 E
The MSI MS-CF27 SBC measures in at 14.6 x 10.2 cm or 5.7 x 4 inches, and tips the scales at just 580 grams or around 20 ounces.
Like most other products aimed at industrial usage, pricing details have not been publicly revealed. To know more about the MSI MS-CF27 SBC or enquire for pricing, interested customers can refer to MSI's official product page for the same.
