MSI may have revealed the MEG 342C QD-OLED over six months ago, but the company has not shared any other details about the gaming monitor since. However, Twitter leaker @g01d3nm4ng0 has got their hands on images that appear to have been taken from presentation slides. Hence, it seems likely that MSI will showcase the MEG 342C QD-OLED again next month at CES 2023 in Las Vegas.
Based on these leaked images, the gaming monitor features SpectrumBar, an LED strip that MSI has fixed beneath its bottom display bezel. The same leaker has also shared a short video highlighting MSI's implementation of SpectrumBar, which looks like a one-sided version of Philips Ambilight. We would be surprised if MSI has not also integrated RGB lighting elsewhere on the MEG 342C QD-OLED, though.
Additionally, @g01d3nm4ng0 has confirmed that MSI has included a KVM switch for the monitor's built-in USB hub, as well as support for 65 W fast charging via USB Type-C and an HDMI 2.1 port that delivers ALLM, DSC, VRR and a 48 Gbps bandwidth. As far as we can tell, the MEG 342C QD-OLED contains two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort connection and various USB ports. Meanwhile, the QD-OLED panel itself resolves at 3,440 x 1,440 pixels with a 175 Hz refresh rate, 0.1 ms response times (GtG) and 1,000 nits of peak brightness. Unfortunately, pricing and availability still remain unknown.
