Reviews for the MSI GT75VR Titan

MSI GT75VR Titan Review: A (Costly) Gaming Powerhouse
Source: Lowyat.net English Archive.org version
The MSI GT75VR Titan is a powerful, very capable gaming laptop with a sweet audio system. But as capable as it is, consumers will have to shell out a small fortune for it, and considering the fact that you can get a similarly-equipped gaming laptop for much less, the GT75VR is hard to recommend.

MSI GT75VR Titan

The GT75VR Titan turns the laptop world on its head, pursuing a path of absolute performance with no regard for weight or aesthetics. It’s admirable, but it certainly isn’t for everybody. No pricing is available yet, nor is availability, but expect it to cost upwards of £2000.

MSI GT75VR Titan gaming laptop stays frosty, slays benchmarks
Source: CNet English Archive.org version
What really impressed was the cooling system. It packs in more heating vents than any other gaming laptop has managed before with four points of ventilation keeps core temps down, which in turn means that your performance won't suffer. Based on the quick demos, it was crushing graphics performance benchmarks. So be cool, Soda Pop.

Hands on: MSI GT75VR Titan review
Source: Techradar English Archive.org version
The MSI GT75 VR looks like a solid desktop replacement, but it’s too early to call it without a closer look at the screen, and at just how far we can really push the system.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Mobile: Pascal based laptop graphics card using GDDR5 graphics memory. Should offer a similar performance to the deskto GTX 1080. However, there is also a more power efficient "Max-Q" version that performs worse than the normal GTX1080 and is used in thin and light laptops.

With these GPUs you are able to play modern and demanding games fluently at medium detail settings and HD resolution.

i7-7820HK: Quad-core notebook processor based on the Kaby Lake architecture running at 2.9 - 3.9 GHz. It is the second fastest model of the consumer H-series in the beginning of 2017. The chip also integrates the HD Graphics 630 GPU clocked at 350 - 1100 MHz and is manufactured in a 14 nm process (improved compared to Skylake). Compared to the Core i7-7820HQ, the 7820HK lacks business features like vPro or TXT support.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

17.30": This display size is a standard format for desktop replacements (DTR). The DTR laptops are heavier to carry, need more power, but texts are easy to read and high resolutions are no problem. DTR are mainly intended for stationary desk use, where weight and energy hunger don't matter. In return, you enjoy the advantages of high resolutions (more details, better legibility).» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.

4.6 kg:

A laptop in this weight range is a heavyweight that you rarely carry around. This is meant for desktops and the devices tend to score with a large display and high performance and replace desktop devices.

MSI: Micro-Star International (MSI) was founded in 1986 in Taiwan. MSI is especially known as a manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards for PCs, but also offers computer accessories, complete systems, motherboards, graphics cards, laptops, desktop PCs, monitors and other components. However, the Microstar brand name in Germany belongs to the Medion company. MSI is known for its gaming products and has developed a wide range of gaming laptops and desktop PCs. The company is also active in workstations, servers and industrial automation. MSI has offices in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
