Reviews for the MSI GT75 8RG-090 Titan
Gaming Colossus. The GT75 8RG Titan marks MSI’s relaunch of its most powerful and massive 17-inch notebook. The desktop replacement includes a hexa-core CPU, a 120 Hz display and NVIDIA’s fastest mobile GPU to fit its high-end billing. We will be putting this gaming newcomer up against the toughest of competitors.

Overall, the MSI GT75 Titan is a worthy successor to the outgoing models. The GT series is not inexpensive. You can get devices that are just as fast for less money, but they are not likely to offer the same build quality, or premium features like a mechanical keyboard, and 10 Gbps network. The GT75 isn’t perfect, with minor issues like a less than amazing trackpad, but that can be overlooked when the target market is almost certainly going to be using it with a mouse on a desk. The battery life is terrible, but once again, that’s completely normal in this type of system.

A monster in every way, the MSI GT75 Titan is an epic gaming machine with a high-refresh-rate screen, a comfy mechanical RGB keyboard, and chart-topping graphics grunt. Our key quibbles: high price and sheer bulk.

However, this laptop is incredibly expensive, out of the reach for all but the most financially solvent gamers. Our top pick for under $2,000 with this size display is the HP Omen, which offers great overall and graphics design, but has a last-gen processor. For a bit less dough than this MSI, you can get the $3,899 Aorus X9, which is similarly specced but lighter and a touch more powerful. However, if you have the means and room to accommodate it, the MSI GT75 Titan deserves the prime spot in your gaming battlestation.
