The MSI GS70 STEALTH is the proof that a powerful gaming laptop with 17" screen does not need to be heavy and thick. It can be called a huge gaming ultrabook.Of course it is not intended to be put inside your backpack and carried along all day, but it is as portable as most of the 15" laptops.

The GS70 is certainly a great piece of gaming hardware, presented in a very sleek way. There’s more than enough here to keep an average gamer happy, and despite a few flaws, the MSI GS70 is certainly a great (if slightly large) solution for anyone who wants to game on the go.

Back then, on the go gamers had to carry around heavy gaming laptops just to get the best performance but there has been a growing supply in ultraportable gaming laptops and the MSI GS70 Stealth is the latest entry in that category.

It looks more of a business laptop with its dark finish and its textured bottom provides extra grip. Weighing in at only 5.8 pounds (2.63 kg), you will be hard pressed to find a lighter and thinner 17-inch gaming laptop. The keyboard is made by SteelSeries which allows you to customize your own multicolored lighting zones.

The laptop features a 4th-generation Intel i7 processor, 16 GB RAM and both an Intel HD 4600 and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 765M, which ensures you have no shortage of graphics power. It might not be the most powerful gaming laptop out there, but paired with its 17.3-inch screen with 1920 by 1080 resolution you will have a very nice gaming experience on the go. As usual with gaming laptops, the battery life leaves much to be desired, but in this case it is better than most of the other options out in the market. You can get roughly more than 3 hours of gaming, which is a great number for this niche.

The combination of weight and specs makes this an easy recommendation for the hardcore gamer looking for an option to bring on the road.

Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.

DTR are mainly intended for stationary desk use, where weight and energy hunger don't matter.
