Reviews for the MSI GF65 Thin 9SEXR-249

80% MSI GF65 2020 review: gaming on tight budget
Source: Phandroid English Archive.org version
Overall, my experience with the MSI GF65 was quite enjoyable. While I like the portability and extra battery that ultrabooks provide, like most people these days, I spend the majority of my time at home. My only real issues come down to the display’s brightness and color accuracy, but if all you plan on doing is use the laptop for gaming, the MSI GF65 will suit you just fine.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Mobile: Mid range to high end laptop graphics card based on the Turing architecture with raytracing features and 1,920 shaders. Compared to the similar named desktop card it offers reduced clock rates.

With these GPUs you are able to play modern and demanding games fluently at medium detail settings and HD resolution.

» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards and the corresponding Benchmark List.

i5-9300H: On Coffee Lake architecture based processor for big and heavy laptops. Integrates four processor cores clocked at 2.4 - 4.1 GHz (4 GHz with 4 cores) that support HyperThreading. Manufactured in an improved 14nm process (14nm++). » Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

15.60":

15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.

The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.

» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.

MSI: Micro-Star International (MSI) was founded in 1986 in Taiwan. MSI is especially known as a manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards for PCs, but also offers computer accessories, complete systems, motherboards, graphics cards, laptops, desktop PCs, monitors and other components. However, the Microstar brand name in Germany belongs to the Medion company. MSI is known for its gaming products and has developed a wide range of gaming laptops and desktop PCs. The company is also active in workstations, servers and industrial automation. MSI has offices in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.

80%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
