At the end of the day, there are plenty of options, including some from MSI, for mobile gamers who want a system guaranteed to run everything you throw at it at the highest possible quality settings. The Apache doesn't make such a promise, but it does offer a whole lot of performance for its price and size.

Overall, the MSI GE62 Apache is a very good entry-level gaming laptop, with class-leading 3D performance numbers and gamer-friendly features, like the Steelseries keyboard with multi-colored backlighting. However, the Acer Aspire V 15 Nitro remains our Editors' Choice. It's $100 less expensive, comes with a speedy SSD, and delivers an hour more battery life.

There's a lot to like with the MSI GE62 2QE Apache. It's surprisingly compact for such a high-power laptop - in fact it's barely any bigger or heavier than your typical £300, 15.6in budget machine so it can certainly double as a standard laptop while acting as a desktop replacement gaming system when you get home.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M: Lower high-end graphics card based on the Maxwell chip GM204 and GM206 (newer 2016 version with higher clock rates). Part of the GeForce GTX 900M series.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
4720HQ: Haswell-based quad-core processor clocked at 2.6 GHz with Turbo Boost support up to 3.6 GHz. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 4600 GPU and a dual channel DDR3 memory controller.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
