The MSI Creator M16 has been discounted to US$1,149.99 on Amazon. The slashed price is US$370 lower than the recent sales price of US$1,520 and US$450 less than then US$1,599.99 list price (via slickdeals). According to Honey’s price history tool, the latest MSI Creator M16 rate is a 120-day low.
The MSI Creator M16, as the name suggests, is a laptop meant for folks looking for a content production machine. As such, the machine packs a 16-inch QHD+ display with a 60 Hz resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 gamut. Driving the display is an RTX 4060 mobile GPU with 8 GB of VRAM. Additionally, the notebook is equipped with a Raptor Lake Core i7-13620H CPU, 32 GB of DDR5-5200 memory, and 1 TB of PCIe storage.
Based on the internals on offer, the MSI Creator M16 should be plenty fast for any content production workload you can throw at it. The Core i7-13620H is a 10-core (6 P-core + 4 E-cores) part with a boost clock of up to 4.9 GHz. Our tests show that the CPU is practically on par with the last-gen Core i9-12900H in multi-core and single-core performance with Cinebench R23 Multi-Core and single-core scores of 15,496 and 1,805 respectively.
Similarly, the RTX 4060 laptop is also quite capable with a 3DMark Time Spy Graphics result of 9,630 according to our database. This puts the RTX 4060 laptop ahead of the RTX 3070 laptop and only 8% behind the RTX 3070 Ti laptop.
Put simply, the MSI Creator M16 is, at least on paper, equipped with respectable hardware making the notebook powerful enough to handle most content creation tasks. At the current sales price of US$1,149.99, the laptop definitely deserves a look.
