MMO without the grind: Free-to-play game debuts on Steam with 96% positive reviews

Idle games such as Cookie Clicker are hugely popular. Games that combine idle automation with MMO mechanics, however, are still a comparatively small niche. One more recent example is IdleOn, which has received very mixed reviews lately. Evitania Online may have more potential, at least judging by the first reviews. Since entering Early Access on April 7, the idle MMO has already received more than 140 reviews, 96% of them positive.

Evitania Online is a casual idle RPG in which players fight monsters, collect loot and improve their characters. They can choose from different classes such as warrior, mage or rogue, each with its own talent tree. The core of the game is automation: battles run in AFK mode and progress continues offline. The main appeal lies in making your character ever more efficient, farming rare equipment and taking on increasingly powerful bosses.
Players especially praise the game’s accessibility. It is said to be very easy to learn and pleasant to play on the side. Most criticism is aimed at the monetization, which some say feels too much like a mobile game. That is likely because Evitania Online was first released for Android. For players, however, that also brings an advantage: the game supports cross-platform progression. This means save data can be used flexibly between smartphone and PC. The idle MMO is also classified as “Playable” on Steam Deck.
