MINIX debuts NEO Z300 fanless mini PC with 8-core Alder Lake-N CPU
MINIX's recently launched NEO Z300-0dB is a particularly diminutive mini PC boasting a fanless design. As one might expect from the system's passively cooled nature, the NEO Z300 prioritizes efficiency over performance, while being plenty fast for most lightweight tasks.
The system is powered by the Intel Core i3-N300 CPU with 8 cores, 8 threads, and a TDP of 7 watts. Unsurprisingly, graphics are handled by the integrated Intel UHD graphics with 32 EUs, since the compact enclosure has no room for the indulgence of discrete graphics. Up to 16 GB of RAM is offered, along with support for PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSDs allowing for speedy boot times and data access.
In terms of connectivity, the NEO Z300 packs a healthy array of ports, including two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, two HDMI ports, two USB 2.0 ports, a Type-C port, a microSD card reader, a 2.5 G ethernet port as well as an audio jack. Wireless connectivity is taken care of by Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. Although there is no word on pricing or availability yet, more information should be available shortly.
The NEO Z300-0dB will certainly not break any records in terms of performance, but its fanless nature allows for quiet and efficient operation while packing enough grunt for most day-to-day tasks.
