The kingdom of Fahrul is at war, and the queen needs your help. Thus, you'll travel across the kingdom to defeat creatures, complete challenges, and earn unique rewards. Each playthrough is unique, and before each adventure, you can create a team of one to three characters and choose their classes to determine their equipment and skills. Whether you’re playing alone or with friends, you’ll have to fight in turn-based battles. 

But the fights are brutal, and you’ll need to use strategy to defeat each opponent. And if you want, you can buy equipment, weapons, and upgrade your characters. Several expansions, including Dungeon Crawl, Frozen Expanse Adventure, Gold Rush, and Into The Deep, are available. 

When it was released, For The King was well received by players. Today, the game has 87% positive reviews out of more than 43,200 reviews on Steam, as well as a Metascore of 79 and a user score of 6.9. Thus, while it has many strengths, such as its board game mechanics and its features, it can be very difficult, and the gameplay is random and punishing. In other words, it is unbalanced, causing frustration among players.
