American aerospace and defense manufacturer Lockheed Martin has set up a new subsidiary, Astris AI, to help adopt AI solutions in US defense industrial bases and companies with high assurance requirements.

Lockheed Martin, the American aerospace and defense manufacturer, has announced a subsidiary, Astris AI, to help drive the adoption of AI solutions in defense applications for US industrial bases and security companies with "high assurance requirements."

In a press release, the company said it "has made significant investments in developing an industry-leading MLOps software capability, a generative AI platform tailored to high-assurance end users and building a robust team of AI experts."

These models are aimed at defense and commercial companies to "develop and deploy secure, resilient, and scalable AI solutions."

It will offer two products - AI Factory Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) and a generative AI platform to help accelerate post-mission analytics, testing new software code, and analyzing long documents. Astris AI will be led by Donna O'Donnell, Chief Revenue Officer and former head of AI and automation sales at Xerox.

"By combining Lockheed Martin's expertise with Astris AI's agile approach, we're enabling organizations to navigate the complexities of the rapidly evolving technology landscape with high-assurance AI solutions that deliver secure and reliable interactions, compliance, and responsible decision-making," said O'Donnell in a press release.
