96% Lenovo Yoga C930 review: Brilliant display and brilliant sound make this a winner
Source: Techaeris English Archive.org version
I’m often asked this one question. “What laptop should I buy?” My answers don’t always thrill people because they are looking for laptops priced at US$300 and less. While you can get by with something in that price range, investing in a laptop with a strong processor, good graphics card, and a good amount of RAM will almost always be better than the cheapest laptop you can buy.

The Lenovo Yoga C930 Review: Atmos Acoustics
Source: AnandTech English Archive.org version
Lenovo has added a lot of features to this notebook, including two USB-C Thunderbolt 3 connections, 160 MHz wireless in the Intel 9260 chipset, and up to a whopping two terabytes of NVMe storage. There’s a fingerprint reader for Windows Hello authentication, and even a couple of color options. Even better, the minimum RAM is 8 GB and the minimum storage is 256 GB. . Features like the Dolby Atmos sound bar really make it shine. Add in the included active pen, and the versatility of a convertible laptop, and the Yoga C930 is a solid contender. As to how much of a contender, that depends on what features you value over others.

Lenovo Yoga C930 Laptop Review: Dolby Vision And Atmos Deliver
Source: Hot Hardware English Archive.org version
Altogether, the new Lenovo Yoga C930 is a well-rounded 2-in-1 laptop convertible that fits in at home or at work. Its Dolby Vision display, Dolby Atmos soundbar, and sleek aluminum chassis, along with its potent component config at its $1,299 retail price point, provides excellent bang-for-your buck. We highly recommend it.

95% Lenovo Yoga C930 review: The audio quality is bonkers
Source: Neowin English Archive.org version
But it's also an immersive media experience, so when you're not working, you can play. The Dolby Vision HDR is beautiful, and the display has narrow bezels. But most importantly, the rotating Dolby Atmos soundbar is one of the best audio experiences that you'll find on a mobile PC.

Intel UHD Graphics 620: Integrated GPU (GT2, 24 EUs) found on some Kaby-Lake-Refresh CPU models (15 W ULV series). Technically identical to the previous Kaby-Lake GPU called HD Graphics 620.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

i5-8550U: Kaby-Lake-Refresh based low power quad-core processor. The four cores are clocked between 1.8 and 4 GHz (Turbo Boost) and support HyperThreading. The integrated GPU is clocked between 300 and 1,150 MHz. The SoC is manufactured in a 14nm+ FinFET process.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

13.90":

There are hardly any tablets in this display size range anymore. For subnotebooks, on the other hand, it is the standard format.

The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small and therefore easily portable. The smaller display also has the advantage of requiring less power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is more strenuous on the eyes. High resolutions are more likely to be found in standard laptops.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" from English legend, novo (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. As of 2004, the company was the largest laptop manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM's PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc, and specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, enterprise solutions and related services.

In 2016, the company ranked first in the world in computer sales. It still held it in 2023 with about 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.

In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was purchased, which gave Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.

73.62%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
