Lenovo Yoga 720-15IKB-80X70043GE

The Lenovo Yoga 720-15IKB-80X70043GE is a laptop with the flexibility of a 2-in-1, strong discrete graphics, and an affordable price. It packs a fast Intel Core i7 processor and a potent Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 GPU. To go with its strong performance, the Yoga 720 includes all-day battery life, a gorgeous display, and powerful audio. Though the Yoga 720 15-inch can replace a tablet, users should not expect it to disappear like one in their bag. The device weighs 2 kg (4.41 pounds) and it is almost an eighth-of-an-inch (0.33 cm) thick. Lenovo opted for a plain-but-professional design. The aluminum lid is a dark shade of gunmetal gray with a Yoga logo in the top left-hand corner, but it is otherwise unadorned. The device comes in two variants, gray and silver, and its edges glisten in the sunlight the same way a piece of jewelry does. The aluminum that protects the lid and bottom of the notebook also covers the entire keyboard deck. There are no speakers or clever designs on the deck, just a spacious glass trackpad and a Windows Hello fingerprint reader. With a 2.8-GHz Intel Core i7-7700HQ CPU, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 GPU with 2 GB of VRAM, 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD, the Yoga 720 is ready for both work and play. This notebook can handle many tabs in Chrome and Microsoft Edge without slowing down. If a user is looking to use a laptop for creative work or light gaming, the Yoga 720 will hold its own, thanks to its GTX 1050 graphics. The laptop features a 15.6-Inch 1920 x 1080p FHD Display with Touch. The IPS display itself offers wide viewing angles and high contrast as long as user stick to the top couple of brightness settings, with bold colors and fine details. The Yoga's screen covers an excellent 114 percent of the sRGB color gamut, surpassing the mainstream notebook average (95 percent). Its keyboard and trackpad are a pleasure to use. Because of the laptop’s size, there’s plenty of space for the finger to move as user scroll up and down webpages and navigate Windows 10. A user can see its backlit keys in the dark, and keyboard shortcuts let user dim the screen, adjust volume and turn off the trackpad without navigating trough the settings menus in Windows 10. The Lenovo Yoga 720 15-inch is light on connectivity options. A Thunderbolt 3 port on the right side of the notebook allows a user to quickly connect a monitor, keyboard, mouse and external storage to it. Each side of the notebook has one full-size USB 3.0 port. A headset jack lets the user connect a pair of headphones. The webcam provides averagely bright and sharp images and videos, meaning it's fine for adequately lit environments and merely OK as far as picking up fine details. The Lenovo Yoga 720-15IKB-80X7AC0043GE is probably one of the very few convertibles that can offer proper performance for light gaming and performing serious tasks. 70% Lenovo YOGA 720 15″ Review: a sleek but heavy Windows laptop
Source: Slashgear English Archive.org version
What the YOGA 720 does offer, though, is great and didn’t disappoint during my time with the laptop. The design is great, the hardware options are great, and the display is top notch. If you can look past the missing ports and the fingerprint-prone exterior, there’s nothing to dislike about this model.

Lenovo Yoga 720 review: Discrete GTX 1050 graphics is worth the weight
Source: Good Gear Guide English Archive.org version
If there’s anything threatening mainstream-plus laptops like Lenovo’s Yoga 720, it’s the new generation of ultrabooks with Nvidia’s discrete GPUs and Max-Q technology. Max-Q laptops are supposed to give you the sweetest spot: gaming-ready graphics in thin, light PCs. However, Max-Q laptops are still a little rare and expensive. The Yoga 720 offers a decent serving of gaming power in a handsome package that doesn’t weigh or cost too much. If I can hate the keyboard and trackpad and still say it’s a good deal, that’s saying something.

The 15-inch Lenovo Yoga 720 is an excellent value for what’s on offer. Albeit with only a 1080p screen, the model we reviewed is well-designed and more powerful than its closest rivals without skimping on the battery life.

90% Lenovo Yoga 720 Review Editor's Choice

The Lenovo Yoga 720 is among the most powerful, versatile 2-in-1s we've tested to date. Its mix of a Core i7-7700HQ CPU and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 GPU make it just as useful for video editing and playing games (at low settings) as it is for consuming movies and web browsing. It's a tad heftier than its competitors, but I'm willing to give that up for the power.

Fifteen-inch 2-in-1's are niche systems, desktop replacements destined to see tablet or presentation duty only from time to time. With the 720, Lenovo pushes two of our happy buttons—affordability and gaming ability—but misses a couple of others with a subpar keyboard layout and a design short on ports. It's worth a look, but falls short of the broad appeal required for an Editors' Choice.

Lenovo Yoga 720-15IKB-80X7006VSP

The quality of Lenovo laptops is out of question. They are almost perfectly aligned for business needs. But what i have standing in front of me is kind of an interesting mixture so to say. First, it is convertible. It is kind of thin. With 2 kg weight, it can maybe considered as light. So far so good. Here is the interesting part, it is equipped with an Intel i7 7700HQ processor and wait for it, a GTX 1050 GPU. The worst part? Only 8 GB of RAM. When you see such a combination on a regular laptop, you would consider it as a gaming laptop, right? But can you call a convertible also a gaming machine? I think the target group for this laptop are those who do creative work and need to do lots of presentations. Even if this is the case, an MX150 or even GT 940M would be sufficient and beneficial to battery life. Battery life is not the worst. With this config, the device can achieve a 7.5 hours run time, of course for just web browsing. So it is not an all-day laptop. The biggest issue with this config for me is the RAM, which is also soldered to the mainboard. Since this is a convertible, upgrade is though already and a soldered RAM restricts upgrade options even more. I don't think anyone would pay this laptop over a 1000 Euros just to play games on a convertible. I mean, for this price you can get a better gig with better specs to play games. The nice thing is though, it is equipped with 512 GB SSD and has Thunderbolt 3 connection. So, it is future proof even if the processor is from 7th generation. But just as uncle Ben said: With great power comes great responsibility or even in notebook terms: with great performance, comes great cooling requirements. For such a thin device with this kind of a hardware, the Yoga 720 is trying its best. Fans can be loud sometimes, but yeah they are easily turned on. Whether you are considering this device for gaming or for office work, I suggest you to make a good research about alternatives. Since there are no great touch games for PCs yet, for gaming you should definitely get something else. For office usage, there are better models in terms of weight. In my opinion you will not need a 7700HQ, so it is better to go for a device with i7 8550U and MX150 GPU. Those models will be thinner and lighter, thus resulting in better battery usage as well. Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" from English legend, novo (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. As of 2004, the company was the largest laptop manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM's PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc, and specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, enterprise solutions and related services.

In 2016, the company ranked first in the world in computer sales. It still held it in 2023 with about 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.

In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was purchased, which gave Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.
