Model: The powerful and portable Lenovo Y40-80 is a solid performing laptop for users wanting the best of both worlds. Without burning a hole through your pocket, this gaming laptop comes packed with features and looks good. Design is classic with strong edges and clean lines. The entire device is finished in dark-metal and sports a keyboard with red backlight. The anti-glare 14 inch display features FHD resolution and produces good color saturation and clarity. This is a must for any gaming device.
The Windows 8.1 system comes with an Intel Core i7-5500U processor clocked at 2.4 GHz, up to 16 GB of DDR3L RAM, an AMD Radeon R9 M275 GPU with 2 or 4 GB of VRAM and various storage options from a 1 TB HDD to 256 GB SSD. Audio quality is impressive. Despite the Y40-80's small size, its JBL speakers deliver a solid sound. The Lenovo Y40-80 comes with a 1 MP webcam, two USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0 port, a card reader, an HDMI out and a dual array microphone. At just 2.2 kg, users can definitely game on the go especially since the supplied 4-cell Lithium-Ion Polymer battery lasts up to 5 hours.
AMD Radeon R9 M375: GCN based mid-range graphics card with DirectX 12 support and a 128-bit DDR3 memory controller.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
5500U: Broadwell-based ULV (ultra low voltage) dual-core processor for notebooks and ultrabooks. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 5500 GPU and is manufactured in 14 nm.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
