Reviews for the Lenovo ThinkPad T530 2429-5XG
Old acquaintance? The latest member of the ThinkPad T Series, the T530, features one major change from its ThinkPad heritage – a chiclet-style keyboard. Aside from some hardware updates and the implementation of an Intel Ivy Bridge processor, the familiar ThinkPad style and quality have been maintained.

We probably sound like a broken record, but in the ThinkPad T530, Lenovo has once again created an excellent notebook that gives users more than enough power to meet their business needs in a durable design. Impressive battery life, a gold-standard keyboard and gorgeous display help round out a winning formula.

Matte black surfaces, huge hinges, completely overhauled innards – the new Lenovo ThinkPad T530 means business. And it’s moving with the times – the ThinkPad has finally ditched adjacent-style keys in favor of a chiclet keyboard. Yet most of the changes to the latest iteration of the ThinkPad are under the hood.

NVIDIA NVS 5400M:
Business-oriented graphics card based on the 40nm GeForce GT 630M with slightly higher base clock speeds than a GeForce GT 435M.
Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.

Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
3520M: Fastest Ivy-Bridge-based Dual-Core, 2,9 - 3,6 GHz core clock» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
