The ThinkPad L-series laptops have done nothing but disappoint me recently, with the Lenovo ThinkPad L13 Yoga Gen 4 coming in at 3 stars, and now the Lenovo ThinkPad L15 Gen 4 crashing even lower. They’re both bad, and if you’re wondering why this is worse, it has a worse display and worse battery life. Just get the Acer Swift X — it’s $200 more for significantly better performance and a colorful display. I cannot in any conceivable realm recommend the Lenovo ThinkPad L15 Gen 4. (Unless the stars align to sell this machine for like $500.)

The Lenovo ThinkPad L15 Gen 4 is a decent enough business laptop that gets the basics right, but it's performance lags somewhat and there are much better options out there for about the same or slightly more money that make this laptop harder to recommend than other ThinkPads.

You won't find many Lenovo laptops not worth recommending, and almost no non-recommendable ThinkPads. The L15 Gen 4 has the brand's trademark build quality and splendid keyboard, but it's not a standout performer, and its display is disappointing considering the thousand-dollar jump between the base model and our review unit. Corporate fleet buyers will be content, but small offices and solo entrepreneurs can do better, even without springing for the world's-best Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon.

15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.

As of 2004, the company was the largest laptop manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM's PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world.
