The $110 Lenovo Tab3 8 is an affordable multimedia Android tablet for the whole family. It doesn't offer the sharpest display or the fastest performance, but it's a sturdy slab with solid battery life, good speakers, and the ability to download apps from the Google Play Store. If you don't mind the Fire HD 8's Amazon-centric approach, however, you can get better battery life, more RAM, and faster Wi-Fi for less money (and a refresh to the tablet is making it even cheaper next month). For even less there's the $50 Fire tablet, which has a smaller, lower-res display but offers otherwise similar performance. Or for just a little more, you can get a Fire HD 8 Kids Edition that includes a child-proof case and a two-year no-questions-asked warranty.

While the Tab3 8 Plus feels sluggish in some applications when you are gaming or watching video the slate performs well. The price is also rather attractive given the specifications and when paired with a bluetooth mouse and keyboard it makes for a worth alternative to a notebook for students.

Lenovo Tab3 7 Essential TB-7304F
The Lenovo Tab3 7 Essential is a budget tablet with Android 7.0 Nougat. It is a great tablet for which it does not have to go deep into the pocket. The Tab3 7 Essential is the perfect choice for families, as parents can customize the device to suit their own and their children's tablet habits through multiple user accounts. This slim, lightweight, cost-saving tablet can be easily circulated in families, depending on when users want to use it. It's really nice that the tablet gets almost pure Android here. Unlike Huawei or Samsung, there is no heavily customized interface here. In fact, quite a few apps are preinstalled and that's great. By factory setting, the apps installed on the tablet are mainly the Google Apps, Outlook and Skype from Microsoft, as well as some standard apps like a file manager and a radio app. The design and workmanship is not very high quality as it is a budget tablet. The housing is completely made of plastic. However, Lenovo has improved compared to its predecessor. It is much slimmer and slightly better processed. It's also sleeker and lighter than the Amazon Fire. The tablet only weighs 254 g and is 8.8 mm in thickness. The tablet features a 2-MP front camera and the camera on the back has a resolution of 2 MP. The quality of both cameras is rather poor. For beautiful Instagram selfies, they are not suitable. It is at most okay for video calls in good light conditions. As for the display, it features an IPS display with good viewing angles and colors look neat. It is also nice that it is laminated. There is no difference between the IPS panel and the touchscreen, unlike many other inexpensive tablets. This minimizes reflections. There does not appear to be a fingerprint repellent coating. A user can quickly see fingerprints on the screen. In addition, it is not too bright. For indoors and outdoors in the shade, it's fine. But in direct sunlight, it is too dark. For hardware specification, it has a 1.1 GHz MediaTek MT8735 quad-core chip. There are 1 GB RAM and 16 GB memory. However, 6.8 GB are already occupied by the system, so users are left with 9 GB for apps and media. For simple tasks, the performance is acceptable, but a user should not expect more. On the right side, there is a power button and the volume control. At the top sits a MicroUSB port and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Lenovo has housed a slot for MicroSD memory cards on the left. The memory cards can also be used as internal memory. Above the display is a speaker, and that is the only speaker available. With the decreasing market for tablets, the Tab3 7 Essential fills up one last gap in the tablet industry. It is best used for very light gaming, reading or for kids to play with. 7.00:
This display format is in the mid-range for smartphones. It offers a compromise between good visibility, details and resolution on the screen, and you can still fit it into trouser pockets.
8.00:
Large smartphones and a few small tablets are available for this display size. Unlike most smartphones, you can see more on the screen, more details and use larger resolutions. Such formats are better for people with defective vision. However, such devices are no longer easy to fit in a pocket, and they are probably not quite light either.
» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.

68.98%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
