Lenovo Ideapad 100S 80R2
The Lenovo Ideapad 100S 80R2 is a bargain for light users with its low price point, adequate features and portable design. This 11.6" netbook with less than 1.0 kg is rather a convenient on-the-go device rather than an everyday device, since it is only sufficient for web-browsing and Cloud connectivity. Available with Windows 10 or Chrome OS, the Lenovo Ideapad 100S 80R2 relies heavily on Cloud storage due to its limited local storage of only 32 GB. Thus, users may find themselves subscribing to cloud storage or opting for a microSD storage extension immediately after purchase. However, it provides decent performance with its Intel Atom Z3735F quad core processor, which allows basic tasks and multiple tabs with no significant lags. In addition, the battery life of 8 hours is decent, although slightly inferior compared to its competition. The good thing about the Lenovo Ideapad 100S 80R2 is its sturdy design despite being a lower-end device. Its matte finish is not susceptible to fingerprints. Thanks to a 180° hinge, it can be completely opened, which may come in handy in some situations. Moreover, its keyboard provides a surprisingly easy key travel for a compact device, making typing a more comfortable experience for the users. This netbook also features 2 GB of RAM, Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail) and a 1366 x 768 display. Although its specifications may be subpar compared to other similar devices, the Lenovo Ideapad 100S 80R2 is a fair deal for its price.Specifications

Windows 10 netbook. Lenovo proves that you don't need to have fancy convertibles or detachables to make a good netbook. While a healthy number of features had to be cut, the super-light Ideapad 100S is a bargain for just under $200.

Although the laptop is an all-plastic affair, it does feel metallic to the touch, giving the impression of a more expensive piece of kit. The usual Lenovo build quality is present even in this machine, and there were no creaks in the chassis or hinges, no matter how hard I tried to extract one.

Spending less than $200 on a laptop is a surprisingly viable option right now, and for those who mainly use Gmail, Facebook, Netflix and Amazon (or your own list of mail, social media, streaming video and online shopping tools), a laptop with an Intel Atom processor, low-res screen and paltry 32GB of storage may very well be all you need.

The Lenovo Ideapad 100S offers a ton of value, combining long battery life, an attractive design, solid performance and free Office 365. This laptop would be an even more compelling choice if its keyboard, which generally feels good, did not flex and its touchpad supported gestures.

Some people just want to write emails and browse YouTube for hours on end without having to find a charger. The IdeaPad 100S delivers on that. It’s definitely a great machine for casual web surfers and folks who need the occasional productivity app like Word. Certainly, it’s a better buy than competing Chromebooks with fewer apps.

The Lenovo Ideapad 100S is a solid little budget laptop, hitting on the big points one wants in a laptop without crossing into more expensive territory. For $199, you'll get Bluetooth 4.0, reasonably powerful hardware, and a nice display, as well as perks like those 15GBs of OneDrive storage and the Office 365 subscription. For the price, Lenovo's Ideapad 100S is a great deal, one that will serve you well for Netflix streaming, on-the-go work, creating presentations, and more.

With an affordable price, an attractive shell, and a good keyboard and screen, the Lenovo Ideapad 100S is a very good compact budget laptop for those who don't need to do much more than surf the Web, watch the occasional video, and create school or business documents. We'd like to see more than 2GB of RAM so the system could better handle multitasking, and a bit more baked-in storage (64GB, say) for installing software.

To sum the whole deal up—I was impressed. Both with the high quality of most of the product, and the thinking that led to hamstringing this notebook with such little storage. Indeed, having to knock the score down when a 64GB version would've garnered higher marks was vexing in the extreme. I can't recommend this version of the 100S-11, regardless of the tantalizing price, because products with annoying limitations or that force workarounds hit the recycling bin (or the wall) prematurely.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 100S-11IBY is a decent ultraportable with excellent battery life and a light, but sturdy build. Its performance leaves something to be desired, however, as it's unable to accomplish more demanding multimedia tasks and is generally slower than alternative systems. There would be more appeal if it was being offered at a lower price than other budget ultraportables, given its 32-bit OS, as the faster, 64-bit HP Stream 13 and 15-inch Dell Inspiron Non-Touch (3531) are less expensive by $70 and $50, respectively.

Lenovo IdeaPad 100s-14IBR 80R900K5GE
The Lenovo IdeaPad 100S-14IBR is a simple and budget-friendly 14-inch office notebook. The laptop features a mediocre configuration, which is a common element in all affordable laptops. It is powered by an Intel Braswell processor and is powerful enough for light office applications, Internet browsing, and streaming services. The laptop is light in weight and has a fast-pace solid state drive present. Building on the good looks of the original 11-inch IdeaPad 100S, the 14-inch version is bigger but just as classy. Thanks to its understated navy-blue cover and smooth matte finish, the IdeaPad 100S-14 looks and feels more premium than its price suggests. Weighing just 3.2 pounds and measuring 13.3 x 9.3 x 0.7 inches, the IdeaPad 100S-14 is undoubtedly bigger than 11-inch competitors but is thin and light enough to slip into a backpack. The hardware specifications consist of a 1.6GHz Intel Celeron dual-core N3060 processor coupled with 2 GB of DDR3 RAM (1,600 MHz) and an Intel HD 400 graphics unit for driving the system. The IdeaPad 100S-14IBR comes with a 32 GB eMMC system drive that has 11 GB available, with the rest being reserved for the space required by Windows 10. However, since Windows requires roughly 10 GB of free space to install updates, there is hardly any space left for personal data. The device boots on the Windows 10 operating system sailing upon 64-bit architecture.
The IdeaPad 100S' 14-inch, 1366 x 768 LED backlit non-touch display is hardly the sharpest or the brightest, but it offers wide viewing angles, thus colors do not fade out even when the screen is lying flat at 180 degrees. Users can make video calls and record videos due to the presence of a webcam above the bezel of the display. The IdeaPad 100S-14 has discrete buttons on its 3.7 x 1.9-inch touchpad, a welcome differentiator users will not find on its competitors. It is efficient to scroll through long web pages and highlight text using a combination of the click buttons and swipes on the touchpad, it also causes less strain on the hands. The IdeaPad 100S' touchpad is sensitive enough to recognize light taps and button presses. The Lenovo IdeaPad 100S-14IBR also features stereo speakers with HD audio solution that outputs sound of good quality. One area Lenovo did not compromise on is the ports and connections: On the left side, a user will find a port for the power charger, a USB-3.0 port, full-sized HDMI to connect to your HDTV, and a microSD card slot to expand the laptop's meager internal storage. There are two additional USB-2.0 ports and a combination audio/microphone jack accessible from the right side of the laptop.

Streaming machine. The IdeaPad 100s-14IBR benefits from silent operation, a fast memory card reader and a spare M.2-2280 slot. The device fails to stand out in other areas though.

Unfortunately, the 100S-14's subpar battery life makes it a mediocre choice for students or frequent travelers. While it doesn't have as good a typing experience or as large a screen, the HP Stream 11 provides much longer endurance in a more-portable chassis. However, if you're looking for a thin-and-light budget laptop with a reasonably large display and a great typing experience for under $200, you can't go wrong with the IdeaPad 100S-14.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" from English legend, novo (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. As of 2004, the company was the largest laptop manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM's PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc, and specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, enterprise solutions and related services.
In 2016, the company ranked first in the world in computer sales. It still held it in 2023 with about 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.
In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was purchased, which gave Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.
Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail):
Integrated GPU for tablet and notebook Bay Trail SoCs. Based on the Ivy Bridge GPU with four Execution Units and support for DirectX 11.
Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.
Intel HD Graphics (Braswell): Integrated graphics card in the Intel Braswell series (Celeron and Pentium) processors. Based on the Broadwell architecture (Intel Gen8) supporting DirectX 11.2. Depending on the processor offers 12 or 16 shader cores (EU) and different clock speed.
Intel HD Graphics 400 (Braswell): Integrated graphics card in the Intel Braswell series (2016 Celeron) processors. Based on the Broadwell architecture (Intel Gen8) supporting DirectX 11.2. Depending on the processor offers 12 shader cores (EU) and different clock speeds.

Intel Atom: The Intel Atom series is a 64-Bit (not every model supports 64bit) microprocessor for cheap and small notebooks (so called netbooks), MIDs, or UMPCs. The speciality of the new architecture is the "in order" execution (instead of the usual and faster "out of order" execution). Therefore, the transistor count of the Atom series is much lower and, thus, cheaper to produce. Furthermore, the power consumption is very low. The performance per Megahertz is therfore worse than the old Pentium 3M (1,2 GHz on par with a 1.6 GHz Atom).

14.00:
14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.
In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.

75.03%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
