Lenovo IdeaPad 3 (17″, 2021)’s IPS panel has a Full HD resolution, good contrast ratio, and comfortable viewing angles. Also, its backlight doesn’t use PWM for brightness adjustment. Now, what makes this device truly impressive is its color coverage of 97% of the sRGB gamut. Moreover, our Gaming and Web design profile brings the color accuracy to standard-matching values, which is incredible for a laptop of this price range. By the way, if you happen to have the smaller battery pack, you shouldn’t rush in to return the device. Instead, you can make use of the opened space from the smaller battery, and put a 2.5-inch SATA drive for a larger movie library. If you are looking for the perfect laptop for a limited budget, the IdeaPad 3 (17″, 2021) may not be a perfect solution, but it is definitely one of the best choices out there.

AMD Vega 7: Integrated graphics adapter of the Ryzen APUs based on the Vega architecture with 7 CUs (= 448 shaders) and a clock speed of up to 1,600 MHz.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

R5 5500U: A hexa-core APU designed for use in ultra-thin, upper mid-range laptops. The Ryzen features six Zen 2 CPU cores running at 2.1 GHz to 4.0 GHz alongside the Vega 7 graphics adapter (448 unified shaders running at up to 1,800 MHz). One could be forgiven for thinking Ryzen 5 5500U is a renamed Ryzen 5 4500U - which is not the case. Ryzen 5 5500U is most similar to Ryzen 5 4600U, the most noteworthy difference between the two being the faster iGPU model of the former.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
17.30": This display size is a standard format for desktop replacements (DTR). The DTR laptops are heavier to carry, need more power, but texts are easy to read and high resolutions are no problem. DTR are mainly intended for stationary desk use, where weight and energy hunger don't matter. In return, you enjoy the advantages of high resolutions (more details, better legibility).» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.
