A reliable leaker has provided initial information about yet another Snapdragon X Plus chipset. Arriving in the wake of Qualcomm's official X1P-42-100 release, the so-called X1P-24-100 would appear to sit right at the bottom of the Snapdragon X Plus range.

The volume of Snapdragon X Plus chipsets currently stands at four, having started out in April with a single 'X1P-64-100' variant. Consequently, the Snapdragon X Plus series now matches the volume of Snapdragon X Elite SKUs, at least for now. For reference, Qualcomm currently offers the following Snapdragon X Plus SKUs to its partners:

CPU cores CPU total cache Max multi-core CPU frequency CPU boost frequency GPU TFLOPS NPU TOPS Memory Type Transfer Rate
X1P-66-100 10 42 MB 3.4 GHz 4.0 GHz (single-core) 3.8 45 LPDDR5x 8448 MT/s
X1P-64-100 10 42 MB 3.4 GHz None 3.8 45 LPDDR5x 8448 MT/s
X1P-46-100 8 30 MB 3.4 GHz 4.0 GHz (single-core) 2.1 45 LPDDR5x 8448 MT/s
X1P-42-100 8 30 MB 3.2 GHz 3.4 GHz (single-core) 1.7 45 LPDDR5x 8448 MT/s

However, there have been suggestions in the last few months that Qualcomm had created at least two other variants that sit below the X1P-42-100. Allegedly, the company has also developed the X1P-39-100 and X1P-40-100. However, no recent evidence has emerged about either of these chipsets.

Now, Roland Quandt has disclosed an entirely new variant that would appear to sit well above all existing Snapdragon X Plus chipsets. Supposedly, Quandt has had sight of the X1P-24-100, to which we can find no previous mention online. Citing unspecified 'databases', the leaker asserts that the X1P-24-100 has eight CPU cores, just like the rest of the Snapdragon X Plus series.

Going off the current Snapdragon X Plus series, we would expect Qualcomm to distinguish the X1P-24-100 in four principal areas. However, this is unlikely to extend to its NPU, whose theoretical performance must meet 45 TOPS to retain 'Copilot Plus' status. Instead, we imagine that the X1P-24-100 will land with less CPU cache than the X1P-42-100 and X1P-46-100, as well as a downclocked CPU. Moreover, the trend among the Snapdragon X Plus series would suggest that the X1P-24-100 will have a weaker GPU, too.
