Samsung appears to be working on another foldable device in the form of the Galaxy W20 5G flip-phone. The South Korean manufacturer has never entirely given up with the flip-phone/clamshell format, as demonstrated by releases such as the luxurious W2019 and its W2018 predecessor. Although there are currently scant details about the Samsung Galaxy W20 5G device available, at least the poster proves its existence.
Fortunately, the team at LetsGoDigital recently created renders of a Samsung flip-phone, which were based on an unearthed patent, to help give some idea of how the device could look. This could actually be similar to how the Galaxy W20 5G ends up looking, and there is definitely an interesting mix of futuristic aesthetic with old-school format on show. The device folds inwards and outwards and offers numerous form options for the user.
Apparently, the Galaxy W20 will have a punch-hole front-facing camera while the rear is adorned with a dual camera setup. It’s expected the Samsung Galaxy W20 5G foldable flip-phone will only be available on the Chinese market, although unsurprisingly the exhibition poster reveals little about the device beyond its name and 5G communication capability. However, it’s believed Samsung is eyeing up ultra-thin glass as a solution for the W20 5G’s display.
