Images of the W2019 clamshell-style phone have been leaked on to the Internet, along with a brief hands-on video. Unsurprisingly, the handset is not entirely dissimilar in appearance to its predecessor, the W2018. The device is far from petite; it looks sturdy and seems to feature both aluminum and glass as construction materials. There are two screens (interior and exterior) and the W2019 also sports a rear-facing dual camera system.
Speculation about what processor will feature in Samsung’s W2019 has focused on the Snapdragon 845 SoC from Qualcomm. Considering the likely sky-high prices this phone will be sold at, it makes sense for Samsung to choose a fast and powerful chip to help attract buyers. A 3,000 mAh-sized battery is expected to power the two 4.2-inch AMOLED screens that will further help the old-school style W2019 stand out from the crowd.
This curio of a phone is believed to be headed just for the Chinese market, likely at a price that would even make iPhone XS Max owners raise their eyebrows. But as Notebookcheck previously stated, clearly there is a market for this series, otherwise Samsung would have ceased production on it.
