Shortly after the launch of the Nothing Phone (3), Carl Pei, the CEO and founder of Nothing, revealed that the flagship was the last of the Phone (3) series of smartphones. However, a new report has surfaced, revealing that Nothing is actually not done with the Phone (3) series, as it plans to add a new model that will be sold as the Nothing Phone (3a) Lite.
First reported by Xpertpick, courtesy of Sudhanshu Ambhore, the Nothing Phone (3a) Lite will likely be announced this year, and it will get a global release, including India. No details have been provided about the phone's design, except for the fact that it will be available in Black and White. Most of the specifications are also still unknown, except for the RAM and storage.
According to the source, the Nothing Phone (3a) Lite will be available in a single configuration with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Unlike smartphones launched under its CMF sub-brand, Nothing smartphones do not have a MicroSD card slot, so there's a chance this will be the case for the Phone (3a) Lite, too.
The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite should cost less than the Nothing Phone (3a), which had a $379 price tag at launch (available on Amazon for $399). However, the lower price means buyers should expect trade-offs. Although, there doesn't seem to be a reason for a Nothing Phone (3a) Lite, considering the $279 CMF Phone 2 Pro perfectly fills that spot.
