Lapsi Health has unveiled the Keikku 2.0 AI-powered digital stethoscope to help doctors spend more time on patient care and less time on paperwork.
The puck-sized Keikku 2.0 can be used in place of a regular stethoscope during patient exams when listening to the sounds of the heart and lungs (auscultation). The sounds can be heard on wireless headphones during the exams, and the audio waveforms are analyzed by AI and recorded. Doctors are alerted to the detection of a murmur or a lung pathologic sound.
In between use as a digital stethoscope, the Keikku 2.0 acts as an AI-powered transcription recorder, allowing physicians to create properly formatted electronic health records quickly, without the need to write or type during exams, according to Lapsi Health. All AI-generated SOAP notes with ICD-10, CPT, and other codes can be reviewed and edited prior to posting in the EHR system. The auscultations are saved along with the patient record as sound files.
The company says the Keikku 2.0 has a runtime of up to 72 hours between charges. The FDA-cleared, HIPAA-compliant, and GDPR-compliant digital stethoscope has an MSRP of $375 and is available for purchase from Lapsi Health.
