LG G6 could retail for as much as 700 Euros
Romanian online retailers are already listing the LG G6 for pre-order complete with prices and specifications. If these listings are anything to go by, then we can expect the LG flagship to sell for about 700 Euros once it becomes available for other European regions. The smartphone will be launching first in its home country of South Korea later next week.
In comparison, the LG G5 launched in July of 2016 for a significantly lower retail price of 450 Euros. The high price of the G6 combined with the older Snapdragon 821 SoC could mean an uphill battle for the manufacturer especially with the Galaxy S8 looming nearby. The Romanian listings point to 4 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal storage space, so potential SKUs with higher RAM or storage capacity could retail for even more than 700 Euros.
On the positive side, LG announced at MWC this year that the G6 will be shipping with both built-in wireless charging capabilities and 32-bit Quad-DAC for improved sound quality. Its 18:9 5.7-inch display and waterproof chassis should give the smartphone a brief upper hand against the competition.
The South Korean manufacturer has been struggling in the smartphone market due to lukewarm sales of its previous modular G5 flagship.
