The recent One UI 6.1 update put some Galaxy S22 phones in a boot loop. Some users have got around it by using an old trick to revive dying electronics.

Some Galaxy S22 users ended up with bricked devices after installing the One UI 6.1 update. While Samsung is aware of the issue, people are still stuck with dead phones with their data stuck on it, prompting them to resort to unconventional means.

One of the potential solutions to temporarily getting your Galaxy S22 back from the dead involves putting it in the freezer. Android Authority stumbled upon a couple of users on Reddit and Samsung's forums who got their phones back for a short while. Of course, it won't last long because the components will heat up again after some use. If you happen to have a Galaxy S22 that got bricked due to One UI 6.1, we'd recommend you try official repair channels and only freeze it as a last resort.

The trick isn't exactly new, and has been used to revive dying hardware since the early 2000s. It essentially causes the metal components in the motherboard to contract, thus re-establishing contact between solder pads, which is lost again once the part heats up. The opposite (an oven) also works, you really shouldn't be putting your Galaxy S22 in one.
