'Beast Canyon' is the most powerful Intel NUC that the company has released to date, as its RGB lighting implies. The NUC 11 Extreme remains relatively compact though at just 35.7 x 18.9 x 12 cm, equating to an 8-litre chassis. Nonetheless, Beast Canyon still includes a 650 W 80 Plus Gold ITX power supply that can power some potent hardware.
Intel previewed Beast Canyon in June, and now SimplyNUC is taking pre-orders. The NUC 11 Extreme starts at US$1,299, which has a Core i5-11400H, 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB M.2 SSD. Meanwhile, stepping up to the Core i7-11700B costs US$1,399, with the Core i9-11900KB coming in at US$1,599. These prices include the same RAM and SSD configuration as the entry-level model, for reference. However, SimplyNUC offers up to 64 GB of RAM and a 4 TB NVMe SSD, along with dual 8 TB NVMe SSDs should you need secondary and tertiary drives.
Moreover, Beast Canyon can be equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti or an RTX 3070. All models come with Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2 and 2.5 Gbps Ethernet, too. Additionally, the machine has two Thunderbolt 4 ports, eight USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports. NUC 11 Extreme orders will begin shipping in September 2021.
