A short video posted by Vassi Tech shows the lucky YouTuber in possession of an Intel Core i9-11900K CPU before its official release date of March 30. Taking advantage of the accidental premature delivery, the host proceeded to show off the i9-11900K’s unique packaging before moving on to a thorough unboxing.
Although Intel has been much-maligned lately for a variety of reasons, it’s difficult to deny that the Rocket Lake i9-11900K is at the very least an incredible single-core performer. The chip also performs outstandingly in the unboxing clip, looking dapper in its crinkle-cut packaging, and tucked safely away in a pouch inside the crystal (plastic) aquarium-like container it comes in.
The Intel Core i9-11900K, which is an 8-core, 16-thread part with a base clock of 3.5 GHz and a variety of boosts (dependent on TVB and core amount) that go right up to 5.3 GHz, is priced at a not inconsiderable amount of US$539. You would want premium packaging for a product of that price, and Intel has certainly delivered on that count.
