Intel Core 5 220H, Core 7 250H, Core 7 250U: Refreshed Raptor Lake CPUs spotted online
Previous rumours indicated Intel would supplement its Core Ultra 200 lineup with non-Ultra SKUs, which would essentially a third Raptor Lake refresh. Crossmark's database has now listed three non-Ultra SKUs, the Core 5 220H, Core 7 250H and Core 7 250U. These will compete against AMD's Ryzen (not AI) 300 SKUs; essentially a Hawk Point refresh. Intel's upcoming CPU lineup looks something like:
- Core Ultra 200V (Lunar Lake), Core Ultra 200H/HX/U (Arrow Lake laptop)
- Core 200H/U (Raptor Lake refresh)
The Core 7 250H is a 14-core (6P + 8E), 20-thread processor that scores 1,856 points in CrossMark. This is slightly above the Core i7-13800H, its Raptor Lake equivalent. Similarly, the Core 5 220H (12-core (4P + 8E), 16-thread) scores 1,604 (Core i5-13600H refresh). Lastly, the Core 5 250U comes with 10 cores (2 performance + 8 efficiency), and it scores 1,371 points.
Exactly when Intel plans to unveil the Core (not Ultra) 200 SKUs is unknown, but we can expect some to show up at CES 2025. Whether or not it will accompany Arrow Lake laptop parts remains to be seen. That said, this could (once again) mislead consumers into thinking they're getting an Arrow Lake SKU instead of Raptor Lake with a fresh coat of paint.
