The PlayStation 6 development details and specs started to leak in late 2025, and so far, many rumored details have surfaced. In a new video, a notable leaker, Moore's Law Is Dead, now adds that Sony is targeting 4K 120 FPS with ray tracing for PS6.

Rumors about Sony's next-gen home console, the PlayStation 6, have started to pick up pace again, and the latest round comes from the notable leaker Moore's Law Is Dead. In a recent livestream, the insider tipped that Sony could be targeting 4K output at 120 FPS with ray tracing turned on.

The leaker previously shared the full specs of PS6, in which the tipster noted that the console could deliver anywhere between 2.5x to 3x rasterization performance of the PlayStation 5. As for the ray tracing performance, the previous spec leak suggested that it will be a 6 to 12 times jump from PS5.

When the PS5 Pro is brought to the comparison, the rumored rasterization jump stands at around 2x, while the ray tracing performance improvement sits at 3 to 6 times. All these projected gains will be made possible with Sony using the next-generation GPU based on RDNA 5, which will be paired with a Zen 6 CPU.

Now, as with any hardware leaks, these performance claims need to be taken with some grains of salt. It goes without saying that the PS6 is less likely to deliver native 4K 120 FPS performance with ray tracing turned on. Instead, the console is expected to rely heavily on Sony's AI upscaling tech, PSSR, to offer output at such a resolution.

The discussion has also addressed a recent speculation that suggested that the PlayStation 6 could be delayed. As we have gone through in a separate coverage, YouTuber Moore's Law Is Dead believes that the launch timeline is unlikely to change. That is, Sony could still be targeting the late 2027 and early 2028 launch for PS6. For those interested, the insider discusses more about the console and the rumored PlayStation 6 handheld at the 29:30 and 43:00 timestamps in the video attached below.
