After the South Korean automaker did not provide any exact figures regarding the range and consumption during the official presentation of its new electric sedan, these all-important specifications are now available and highlight the impressive efficiency of the Hyundai Ioniq 6.

In late June of 2022, the South Korean automaker Hyundai turned heads with the official reveal of its more or less controversially designed electric sedan. Arguably, the eye-catching ducktail spoiler of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 is reminiscent of certain Porsche models, but it apparently does its job in terms of efficiency, which has already been indicated by the EV’s very remarkable drag coefficient of just 0.21.

Now, Hyundai has finally specified the official WLTP range and consumption of all Ioniq 6 model variants, and they turn out to be quite impressive. For example, the rear-wheel-drive base model and its 53 kWh battery will supposedly be able to travel up to 267 miles per charge while consuming 22.4 kWh per 100 miles according to the WLTP standard. These numbers are quite formidable considering the size of the Hyundai Ioniq 6.

Moreover, the RWD long-range model of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 is equipped with a larger 77.4 kWh battery. In combination with the optional 20-inch wheels, the sleek electric sedan can drive up to 339 miles on a single charge. The lighter 18-inch rims add a few miles to that number, as this particular configuration was rated for 382 miles per charge and a consumption of 23 kWh per 100 miles.

The range of the powerful all-wheel-drive version with 239 kW is a bit shorter, it can travel up to 362 miles with 18-inch wheels or 323 miles per charge with the larger wheels. In conclusion, these figures certainly suggest that the futuristically designed electric sedan will be an extremely efficient EV with a long range, since the pending EPA ratings will probably be even higher. In the United States, first units of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 are set to be delivered next year.
