Almost two weeks after the South Korean automaker Hyundai officially unveiled the sleek Ioniq 6 and its rather controversial rear design, a more powerful performance variant of the electric sedan could now follow suit by the end of the week. An official teaser and an even more beautiful unofficial render image have now given some hints on the possible exterior design of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 N.
In a recent post on Instagram, the company's performance department announced its so-called "N Day 2022” event, which is scheduled to take place this Friday, July 15. In the teaser image that can be seen above, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 N appears to be veiled in dense tire smoke, but the car can be easily identified by its unique pixelated LED taillight. However, its massive and quite flamboyant rear spoiler also indicates that the EV’s performance trim may sacrifice its efficient cW value for some additional downforce.
The talented graphic designers at TopElectricSUV have even gone a step further and incorporated the teased design of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 N into a gorgeous render image, which is embedded below this article. It shows the sporty electric car in the brand's signature baby-blue paint color, along with flashy red accents and a more aggressive front bumper including the according N badge. Since the technical specifications of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 N are still unknown, prospective buyers will have to wait until Friday to find out more about the electric performance sedan. Due to the time difference, the event will kick off on Thursday evening, 9 pm EDT.
