Huawei rolls out optimisations for the Watch GT 2 Pro following the release of stylish New Year Edition model
Huawei initially announced the Watch GT 2 Pro last year, but the company has now released a New Year Edition of its popular smartwatch. The Chinese company is yet to confirm if it plans to release the New Year Edition of the Watch GT 2 Pro outside of its home market, but there is a comparable edition of the Watch Fit, too.
Only the design distinguishes the New Year Editions from the regular models. Hence, the Watch GT 2 Pro New Edition still features a 1.39-inch OLED screen with up to two weeks of battery life, a SpO2 sensor and more than 100 workout modes. Similarly, the New Year Edition of the Watch Fit retains the rectangular and 1.64-inch AMOLED screen of the standard edition. The Watch Fit New Year Edition should last up to ten days between charges, also, and has a heart rate sensor along with a SpO2 sensor for monitoring blood oxygen levels.
Separately, Huawei has begun issuing an update to the Watch GT 2 Pro that improves system stability. The update is a 76.24 MB download and carries the build number 10.1.3.42. The update can be download through the Huawei Health app, although your smartwatch must have at least 20% charge to begin the update process. Likewise, Huawei has upgraded the Band 6 to 1.0.2.16, which brings optimisations like an improved calling experience and being able to detect if a new wristband version has been attached. This update can be downloaded through the Huawei Health app, too.
