Huawei announces new iPad Pro rival with 13.2-inch OLED display and slim body

Huawei is gearing up to hold a relatively big launch event, where the company is expected to introduce new products. The MatePad Pro Max is one of them, and just a few hours before the full unveiling, the company has teased the thin tablet with a video, which offers a quick look at the key highlights.
This video (attached at the end) confirms that the Huawei MatePad Pro Max will feature a 13.2-inch OLED display, but the brand didn't confirm whether it's a tandem OLED display or not. Non-tandem would be a downgrade from the non-Max 12.2 variant of the tablet, but the company could make it up with the device's thin design.
As Huawei highlights, the MatePad Pro Max measures as thin as 4.7mm, which is thinner than the non-Max model and even beats the 13-inch Apple iPad Pro M5. To fill you in, Apple's top-end tablet with a 13-inch display measures 5.1mm at its thinnest (256GB WiFi curr. $1,182.81 on Amazon).
In the video, Huawei mentions that the tablet is lightweight but doesn't specify the actual weight of the MatePad Pro Max. The company has, however, shared that the display will sport thin bezels, measuring 3.35mm, and the upper bezel is shown to seamlessly hide the front camera.
Other details confirmed in the video are support for the Glide keyboard, which promises PC-level productivity, and a dual-camera setup on the back. Digital Chat Station, a reliable leaker, adds that the tablet is expected to be powered by a flagship Kirin 9 series processor, and it will feature 66W fast charging support.
The launch is set for May 07, 2026, which is around the corner. So, there's not much waiting to do to learn all there's to it about this thin tablet.
