Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max Specifications, Pros and Cons
Source: OI Spice Tech News
The Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max is expected to launch in May 2026, and it is clearly aiming for the premium crowd. The phone is quite large and a bit heavy, 164mm tall and weighing about 230 grams, so it feels solid in the hand. It uses a glass front and back with an aluminum frame. Good news for clumsy folks, it has an IP68/IP69 rating, which means it is not only dust-tight but can also survive high-pressure water jets and being submerged in up to 2 meters of water for 30 minutes. You also get a lot of SIM flexibility two physical Nano-SIMs plus two eSIMs, though only two can be active at once. The side-mounted fingerprint sensor is easy to reach, and there is even an infrared port for controlling TVs or AC units.

Source: Tech X Reviews
In this video, we dive deep into the brand new Huawei Pura 90 Pro. We test out the gorgeous new "Pink Guava" gradient colorway and see how the new flat-edge design feels in the hand. Is it really a "Pro" phone? We put the Kirin 9030S processor to the test with gaming and thermal performance, and push the massive 6000mAh battery to its limits on HarmonyOS. We also take a close look at the heavily upgraded RYYB camera system! From the ultra-macro periscope telephoto lens to the variable f/1.4 aperture, we'll see if Huawei’s software magic can make up for the lack of a 1-inch sensor.

Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max Review: An Almost Great Flagship
Source: Htxt Africa
The Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max ticks more boxes for flagship phones than previous recent models have. The return of 5G is notable, as is the overall camera performance, battery life, and display. It still, however, is faltering a couple of areas. Namely, the processor and software. We have noted that the 5nm chipset onboard is serviceable, but is outclassed by other offerings on the market when benchmarking. As it currently stands, we can only recommend this device for its exceptional camera performance, and not much else.

Four Countries, One Wedding & a Zara Larsson Gig | Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max 2-month Review
Source: Tech Edit
I used it across Japan, Germany, Serbia and London, and the camera samples are some of my favourites I’ve taken on a phone this year. It is a gorgeous, distinctive bit of hardware and, alongside my other Google-ready phone, I had a brilliant time with it. The Google situation can't be ignored – Google Workspace, Chrome passwords, banking and the general friction around getting things set up still make it a compromise – but it's such a fantastic camera phone that I still found myself reaching for it constantly. A big thank you to Plaud for sponsoring this video.

Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max review: Can the cameras make up for the lack of Google?
Source: Hardware Zone
Despite the naysayers, Huawei has come up with yet another great phone. In terms of hardware, the Pura 90s Pro Max is remarkable in a few ways. The finishes are refreshing and attractive, the display is fantastic, and the camera hardware is mostly excellent. Its price of S$1,498 is also slightly more palatable than its rivals. It’s main weakness is that it’s hobbled by the lack of Google Mobile Services. Some will find this a dealbreaker and we can’t certainly see why.

Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max Review: A Beautiful Comeback With Caveats
Source: Yanko Design
The Pura 90s Pro Max is a phone I ended up liking more than I expected. It looks distinctive, feels premium, and delivers where Huawei has long been strongest, especially in camera performance. At the same time, it is not a flawless flagship. The chipset does not feel best in class, the software ecosystem still asks for compromises, and the lack of clarity around long-term support is difficult to ignore at this price.

HUAWEI Pura 90s Pro Max Review
Source: Yugatech
The HUAWEI Pura 90s Pro Max is a flagship that knows exactly where it wants to compete: photography. The amazing camera system is easily the highlight. It gives us impressive reach without making high-zoom photography feel like a gimmick, while the 50MP main camera, strong HDR color reproduction, and useful AI features round out a very capable camera system. Beyond the cameras, we get a huge 6.9-inch LTPO OLED display, a 6,000 mAh battery, 100W wired charging, 5G support, and a premium design that’s particularly eye-catching in the Orange Ocean variant.

Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max Review: The Cameras Prove Huawei Is Back
Source: Petapixel
Maybe. At its best, the Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max is very good, but priced at roughly $1,300 USD (after conversion from Euro), it’s not really undercutting anyone on price, which only makes the omissions more glaring. The Android virtualization isn’t as much of a roadblock as it once was, and my own testing shows the phone can work quite well in North America.

Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max Review: The Comeback Continues
Source: Android Headlines
This is kind of a complicated question when it comes to this phone. Not having GMS does complicate things, though much less than before. Very few apps have problems with HMS in my experience, and you can even use Google apps without a problem with a combo of Aurora Store and MicroG.

Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max review: excellent cameras, familiar compromises
Source: Digital Camera World
The Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max is capable of taking some exceptional photos. Its 50MP main camera is dependable, the enormous 200MP telephoto offers impressive reach, and its macro performance is among the best I have seen from a phone. It is also gorgeous, comfortable to hold, and equipped with a bright, sharp display. However, Huawei’s processing can be overenthusiastic, particularly with sharpening and HDR, while its professional video controls lag behind the competition.

Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max Review: The new camera king is here!

Recommending a Huawei phone to Western audiences is always a tricky thing, because the user has to be well informed about the software and hardware limitations. Sure, if you’re a gamer who likes to play the most demanding games out there, you should look into something with a modern Snapdragon chip, like the 8 Elite or Elite Gen 5. For everyone else, the Kirin 9030s in the Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max does a flawless job at delivering a snappy and smooth user experience.

Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max Review: A Flagship Built for Photography Lovers
Source: Mobile Dokan
The Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max is a device created with photography passion in mind and Huawei devotees. It really packs a punch with its camera setup, screen and battery life, while also sporting a rugged, quality design. However, the lack of Google services and a mid-range chipset and fingerprint sensor also take it away from being a one-size-fits-all. Cameras and durability are great things to look for, so here's what you're giving away.

Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max (Global Version) Review: A Rare Misfire
Source: ben's gadget reviews
The Huawei Pura 90S Pro Max is the global version of the Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max, and it is powerhouse phone with some questionable decisions. The Pura 90S Pro Max features a 6.9-inch flat OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, but there is no in-display fingerprint reader scanner. The phone is powered by the Kirin 9030S, which is a capable 5nm silicon, but the software UI feels dated in 2026. The battery capacity is either 6000 mAh or 5200 mAh depending on the region. While battery life is very good, it's not the industry-leading. The Pura 90S Pro Max is still a very, very good phone, but as someone with very high expectations of Huawei, this one leaves me feeling a bit underwhelmed.

Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max hands-on review
Source: GSM Arena
As is often the case with such early encounters, we have little to say along the lines of objective findings, but we're still left with a generally positive impression of the Pura 90s Pro Max. The fundamentals look solid. Build quality is up to the expected flagship standard, and the Pura design is nothing if not recognizable. The display is plenty nice, and the anti-glare treatment is a positive development too.

Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max Hands-On: A Promising Phone for Photographers
Source: Petapixel
Huawei is back — sort of. The brand that once looked like a serious disrupter in multiple markets only seven years ago is launching its photography-focused flagship phone for global users. The Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max nomenclature is an obvious reference (at least to me) to competitors but the imaging focus is what the Pura models are about. For me, this is the first Huawei phone I’ve tested since 2020 when I had the P40 Pro.

HUAWEI Pura 90s Pro vs HUAWEI Pura 80 Pro Specs Comparison
Source: Manila Shaker
The HUAWEI Pura 90s Pro brings several updates over the Pura 80 Pro, particularly in terms of performance, software, connectivity, and battery capacity. It also adds 5G support, which is one of the more notable differences between the two models. However, the Pura 80 Pro still has some advantages. It has a larger 1-inch main camera sensor, a higher-resolution ultra-wide camera, and significantly faster wired and wireless charging. It is also cheaper by PHP 12,000.

Huawei Pura 90s Pro review – An inch short of proper greatness?
Source: Stuff Magazine
Many smartphones are making concessions this year. The Huawei Pura 90s Pro is no different, but in this one’s case, the sacrifices are small and very hard to notice unless you’re nitpicking. The cameras will still outperform their R20,000 price tag, and the cash price is attractive too. There’s a slight performance bump on last year’s model, but little else has changed besides the exterior design.

Huawei Pura 90s Pro Overview, Pros and Cons
Source: OI Spice Tech News
The Huawei Pura 90s Pro is designed to make a statement, combining a sleek aluminum frame with a glass back and front, giving it a premium and sturdy feel. It is not just about looks, though, the phone is built to survive the elements with an impressive IP68/IP69 rating, meaning it is completely dust-tight and can handle high-pressure water jets or even a dip in up to 2 meters of water for 30 minutes.
