Huawei has refreshed the MateStation X, its all-in-one (AIO) desktop PC that it now sells as the MateStation X 2023. As expected, Huawei has just upgraded the machine's processor, although this also results in improved connectivity. Specifically, Huawei has equipped the MateStation X 2023 with the Intel Core i9-12900H, eschewing the Ryzen 5 5600H and Ryzen 7 5800H in which the MateStation X was previously available.
Additionally, the adoption of the Intel Alder Lake platform allows Huawei to upgrade the MateStation X from DDR4 to LPDDR5 RAM. Moreover, the MateStation X 2023 has a Thunderbolt 4 port, a feature that was missing from its predecessor. The upgrades end there though, with the MateStation X 2023 retaining its predecessor's 28.2-inch and 3:2 display. For reference, the IPS panel operates at 3,840 x 2,560 pixels, 60 Hz and supports HDR 400.
The MateStation X 2023 is orderable now with the Core i9-12900H, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB or 1 TB of storage. At launch, the former costs CNY 11,699 (~US$1,607) but will eventually retail for CNY 11,999 (~US$1,649). By contrast, the 1 TB edition is orderable in China now for CNY 12,699 (~US$1,745) and will rise to CNY 12,999 (~US$1,786) after Huawei's pre-sale period ends. Huawei has not confirmed whether it will launch the MateStation X 2023 outside China yet, but it took the company a while to do so with the outgoing AMD Ryzen 5000-based model.
