Honor MagicWatch 2 promises 14 days of battery life, more
All the attention might be on the just launched Honor V30 and V30 Pro smartphones but the Huawei youth-focused sub-brand has also rolled out the Honor MagicWatch 2. The new wearable is notable for delivering eye-catching battery life good for up to 14 days between charges. The secret is the custom Kirin A1 chip which is able to sip from the 455 mAH battery in the 46mm model more efficiently than Qualcomm’s ageing Snapdragon 3100 found in competing devices.
As is to be expected in a smartwatch these days, health tracking is a key feature of the MagicWatch 2. Heart rate, swim stroke tracking (it is water resistant up to 5ATM) and breathing assistance are all on offer here as well as 15 different fitness tracking modes. It won’t stop working at night either with the ability to track and report on your sleep as well including diagnosing whether you might suffer from one of six sleep disorders.
The 46mm model features a 1.4-inch AMOLED display that supports up to 800 nits of brightness making it especially visible even in bright sunlight. The smaller 42mm model sports a 1.2-inch display with similar brightness capabilities. It is made from 361L stainless steel and comes in charcoal black, flax brown, sakura gold and agate black color options. The larger model starts from around US$190 while the smaller model starts from around US$180.
