Updated | Highguard website’s abrupt shutdown has players assuming the worst

Update (20:30 CET, 18-2-2026): Upon further investigation, the official Highguard Discord server is fully functional, so the one that Highguard's website redirects to is likely a fake. This implies the website may have been compromised in some way. Unfortunately, the official Discord doesn't have an update about the website's status yet.
Original article:
Despite its lukewarm launch, Highguard has inadvertantly found itself in numerous headlines—for all the wrong reasons. After a rant blaming gamers for the game’s failure spectacularly backfired, former Lead Tech Artist at Wildlight Josh Sobel deleted their X account entirely. Now, it looks like the official Highguard website has followed suit (H/T @K__Med on X).
At the time of writing (18:33 CET, 17/2/2026), the Highhuard website comes up with a generic “Site Unavailable”. There’s no way to check the official Discord for updates because it has been set to invite only, but we’ll update the article once the approval goes through. The game’s tanking player count on Steam, combined with the recent layoffs at Wildlight Entertainment, has sparked concern among the community.
Many speculate this marks the beginning of the end for Highhuard, with a sizable audience calling it Concord 2.0. It has become abundantly clear that it has little to no future in its current form, and even if the developers somehow whip up a fix, the game does little to stand out in the already oversaturated genre. On the flip side, it could be a nothingburger, and the website is merely undergoing maintenance, or maybe even a rehaul.
