Hardkernel releases new ODROID-H4, ODROID-H4 Plus and ODROID-H4 Ultra single-board computers with powerful Intel processors
Hardkernel has released a new ODROID-branded single-board computer (SBC), a few months after marking its 15th anniversary with the ODROID-M1S. This time, the company has delivered the ODROID series, which consists of the ODROID-H4, ODROID-H4 Plus and ODROID-H4 Ultra. As their names suggest, all ODROID-H4 series SBCs are based on similar 120 x 120 mm boards.
However, Hardkernel distinguishes the three ODROID-H4 models not only in terms of price but also in terms of their feature sets. Unsurprisingly, the ODROID-H4 is the cheapest of the three at $99. As a result, the ODROID-H4 contains a weaker processor (Intel Processor N97) than the ODROID-H4 Ultra and lacks any SATA III connectors that the ODROID-H4 Plus offers. Similarly, only the ODROID-H4 Ultra ships with a Core i3-N305 processor, which averages 34% higher scores than the Processor N97 in our benchmarks. For reference, the following differences exist between the three:
ODROID H4 | ODROID H4+ | ODROID H4 Ultra | |
---|---|---|---|
CPU | Intel Processor N974x E-cores (Gracemont architecture), 4 threads, 3.6 GHz clock speed, 12 W TDP | Intel Processor N974x E-cores (Gracemont architecture), 4 threads, 3.6 GHz clock speed, 12 W TDP | Intel Core i3-N3058x E-cores (Gracemont architecture), 8 threads, 3.8 GHz clock speed, 15 W TDP |
CPU | Intel UHD Graphics, 24 Execution Units, 1,200 MHz clock speed | Intel UHD Graphics, 24 Execution Units, 1,200 MHz clock speed | Intel UHD Graphics, 32 Execution Units, 1,250 MHz clock speed |
Ethernet | 1x 2.5 Gigabit | 2x 2.5 Gigabit | 2x 2.5 Gigabit |
SATA III | None | 4 | 4 |
Conversely, all ODROID-H4 series boards are compatible with up to 48 GB of DDR5-4800 RAM and have an M.2 2280 slot that supports SSDs running at PCIe Gen3 x4. Additionally, the trio all come with 24-pin GPIO headers, as well as three video outputs and numerous USB ports. Currently, the ODROID-H4 series is available for $99, $139 and $220 for the ODROID-H4, ODROID-H4 Plus and ODROID-H4 Ultra, respectively. Please see Hardkernel's website for more hardware information and official benchmarks.
