Reviews for the HTC Desire 12
The object of desire? The smartphone-pioneer HTC first brought its Desire series to the market almost eight years ago. Since then, the Desire series has fallen off the map. Now the HTC Desire 12 tries to find some new fans. In our review, we examine whether the 199-Euro (~$234) dual-SIM smartphone with a 5.5-inch display and Android 7 is any good.

Comment
Model: With a 5.5” display, users will be surprised how elegantly the Desire 12 fit in their hand. The modern and sleek design exhibits the beauty of the U series with the iconic liquid surface wrapped around the most compact and lightweight 18:9 phones the company has ever made. Featuring a bigger screen, a new and improved camera, and a stylish design, HTC is ready to play. The device features an elegant design which is a tribute to the company’s liquid surface heritage but with a new, streamlined look. The seamless frame and beautifully curved edges have a luxurious feel, and the dynamic colors add to their own unique style. It comes in three colors: Cool Black, Royal Gold, and Warm Silver. The HTC Desire 12 is powered by a MediaTek MT6739 CPU processor with 32 GB, 3 GB RAM. It packs in a non-removable Li-Ion 2730 mAh battery at 8.2 mm device thickness and a weight of 137 g, running on Android 8.0 (Oreo). This incorporates the HTC Sense Companion, which offers suggestions based on things users do, whether that’s smart alarms responding to their calendar, or Battery Saver to remind them to charge up before they leave home. With a stunning 18:9 and 5.5-inch screen, HTC Desire 12 gives a bigger and better viewing experience to enjoy the things user loves. The slender frame offers a comfortable single-handed experience and easy maneuverability. However, a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels meaning it's a long way from the QHD of the top-end Samsung Galaxy S9, for instance.
As for the camera, it has a 13 MP rear camera and supports Wifi, GPS, 3G and 4G LTE. Dual cameras on HTC Desire 12 capture multiple focal points simultaneously letting user refocus photographs after they are taken or add a bokeh effect. Bokeh mode gives user sharp foregrounds and naturally blurred backgrounds for more artistic photography. The user can capture beautiful and vivid photographs, day or night, with the 13 MP main camera on the HTC Desire 12. And the Phase Detection Autofocus will ensure user get clear details even if a subject is on the move. The large f/2.0 aperture in the front camera of HTC Desire 12 lets in more light for accurate details in low light settings. The user can get clear and well-lit selfies thanks to a front-facing LED flash or enjoy the soft-tone selfie light for a natural glow in any environment. Rounding out the spec list is the usual collection of radios, including Cat 4 LTE, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, micro-USB port and GPS / Glonass modules. HTC has been struggling to catch the Android market in the past few years. With a device like the Desire 12, there is no doubt that it will bring back some Android users to HTC but just how successful it is yet to be known.

5.50":
It is a very small display format for smartphones. You should by no means be mis-sighted and you will generally see very little on the screen and only have a small resolution available. In return, the device should be very small and handy.

67.99%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
