HP's updated ProBook 600 G8 line brings Tiger Lake to the boardroom
HP announced three new laptops in its updated ProBook 600 G8 series. The devices are targeted at home and business customers and sport the latest Tiger Lake CPUs from Intel.
The HP ProBook 630 G8, ProBook 640 G8, and ProBook 650 G8 can be configured with an 11th Generation Intel Tiger Lake Core i3-1115G4, Core i5-1135G7, or Core i7-1165G7 CPU. The Core i5 and Core i7 options have Intel’s new Iris Xe Graphics onboard, while the Core i3 chip has the latest version of Intel UHD Graphics.
The ProBook 630 G8, ProBook 640 G8, and ProBook 650 G8 have 13.3-inch, 14-inch, and 15.6-inch displays, respectively. The screens are either HD (1366x768) or FHD (1920x108) and can be configured with multiple backlights, ranging from 250 to 1000 nits. All three devices support up to 64 GB of DDR4-3200 dual-channel RAM and can be configured with up to a 512 GB Intel PCIe with 32 GB of Intel Optane memory. All three also come with either Intel’s AX201 WiFi 6 or AC 9560 wireless cards, both of which support Bluetooth 5. The ProBook 640 G8 and ProBook 650 G8 can also carry an Intel XMM 7360 LTE-Advanced Cat 9 WWAN card.
The ProBook 630 G8 boasts a USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) Type-C port, two USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) Type-A ports, a combo headset jack, one HDMI 1.4b port, and a Smartcard Reader. The ProBook 640 G8 and ProBook 650 G8 have these ports as well as another USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A port, an Ethernet jack, and a SIM card slot. The ProBook 640 G8 and ProBook 650 G8 can also be configured with an Nvidia GeForce MX450, while the ProBook 630 G8 only supports integrated graphics.
HP’s new ProBook 600 G8 line will be available in November. Prices have yet to be announced.
