HP readying laptops with AMD's FreeSync technology

Teaser
The announcement seems to indicate that AMD wants to significantly strengthen its mobile market presence.

AMD has announced that HP is going to introduce two new Envy 15z laptops with the chipmaker’s FreeSync support. Reportedly, Hewlett-Packard also plans to enable FreeSync in all its future laptops powered by AMD’s A-series sixth generation APU chips.

FreeSync is a variable refresh rate technology that allows smooth gameplay by improving the communication between the display and the GPU and matching the display’s refresh rate to the GPU’s output, reducing image tearing and stuttering.

Full specifications of the upcoming HP Envy 15z laptops remain unknown at this point. However, the announcement seems to indicate that AMD wants to significantly strengthen its mobile market presence, currently hugely dominated by Intel and Nvidia, even though the 6th-gen. of AMD’s A-series processors has been present on the market for months now.
