Google continues to tease the Pixel Tablet, which the company has confirmed is the device's official name. Still on track for a 2023 release, the Pixel Tablet will rely on the new Tensor G2 chipset and can double as a Nest Hub Max when needed.

Google has previewed the Pixel Tablet again, five months after teasing the tablet during its I/O 2022 keynote. To recap, the company briefly showed the tablet in May, before claiming that it would be available sometime in 2023. While that vague release window still applies, the company now feels ready to share more details about the device.

On the one hand, Google has confirmed that the device will actually be called the Pixel Tablet. Until now, its name had been assumed, with the company refraining from referring to it by name in May. On the other hand, Google outlined that the Tensor G2 will power the Pixel Tablet, possibly hinting at a release alongside the inevitable Pixel 7a. In other words, the Pixel Tablet will rely on the same chipset that powers the new Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.

Additionally, Google has teased that it has created a wireless charging speaker dock specifically for the Pixel Tablet. For reference, details about this leaked a few months ago, but Google has shared a few marketing images of the Pixel Tablet and its proprietary dock in action. In short, the dock turns the Pixel Tablet into a Nest Hub Max.

Crucially, Google has not confirmed how much the Pixel Tablet will cost yet, nor the price of its wireless charging stand. The company has teased that the tablet will be available in two colours though, both with 100% recycled aluminium bodies and porcelain-style finishes. Based on the information provided so far, the Pixel Tablet will support other accessories like pen input too, while we would not rule out a keyboard dock given the inclusion of four connectors on the tablet's rear.
