Google has introduced a handful of new AI features for the Google Photos app. Among these features is the ability to make prompt-based edits. This is something that was previously exclusive to the Pixel 10 phone series. Now, with this update, iOS users can get access to this AI-powered editing feature.
With the app updated, users can simply ask the "Help me edit" option of Google Photos to make preferred modifications. This upgrade also comes with the integration of Nano Banana.
As the company states, with Nano Banana integration, users can personalize photos in a wide range of styles. Google has showcased an example of turning a photo into a Renaissance-style portrait, and the feature seems to work well on the app.
Another new addition to the Google Photos app is AI templates. According to the brand, the templates will enable users to easily create a specific picture based on an example they input. This feature will be available on Android in India and the US first.
The company has further highlighted the expansion of the AI-powered search feature that was initially available in the US. This searching feature of Google Photos is now available in over 100 countries. There's support for more than 17 new languages as well, including Japanese, Bengali, and Arabic.
Last but not least, there's a new "Ask" button on Google Photos. It allows users to do more with the images that they view. For example, they can start a conversation with Gemini about the photo instantly with the press of that button.
