Folks who are on the prowl for a mammoth-sized television set that will take their home theater setups to the next level likely have TCL's offerings on their radar. Particularly, the ginormous 98-inch TCL QM85 is an excellent television with equally excellent reviews, and thanks to an ongoing sale on Amazon, can now be purchased at its all-time low price of 'just' $2,998.

The TCL QM85 boasts a mini LED panel with a whopping 5,000 dimming zones, allowing for exceptional black levels and contrast ratios, thereby amounting to an outstanding HDR viewing experience. Unlike most OLED panels, the QM85 can pull off such great black levels while also boasting insane brightness levels, reaching a whopping 3,467 nits at a 10% window. While some mini LEDs do suffer from noticeable blooming issues, the QM85 is not among those, featuring barely any noticeable blooming effects. Color reproduction is excellent as well, with little complaints in regards to pre-calibrated accuracy. For the gaming crowd, the QM85 features a 144 Hz refresh rate along with great response times, making it the perfect option for HDR gaming. However, there is a major downside to the TCL QM85, which has to do with the otherwise splendid television's VA panel. Most VA panels, unlike IPS or OLEDs, suffer from poor viewing angles, and that effect is quite noticeable in the QM85 as well.
