According to a new report, Garmin intends to offer the Fenix 8 series in multiple model derivations. Supposedly arriving tomorrow, the Fenix 8 series will be available in 43 mm, 47 mm and 51 mm sizes, unless one opts for the Fenix 8 Solar Sapphire GPS with solar charging and Memory in Pixel (MIP) displays.

@billbil_kun and Dealabs have delivered fresh information about the Fenix 8 series shortly before Garmin's official release. For context, the company has now finally confirmed the date and time of its next launch event; full details for which we have provided separately. Additionally, various leaks have shared countless details about Garmin's new high-end smartwatches, whether that be a leaked English press release or hands-on footage of two models.

However, it has been unclear what Garmin will actually call its numerous Fenix 8 SKUs, until now. According to @billbil_kun and Dealabs, Garmin will deliver the Fenix 8 series in three distinct names. On the one hand, there will be the standard Fenix 8, which will be sold as the Fenix 8 AMOLED GPS in 43 mm, 47 mm and 51 mm sizes for the following prices:

  • 43 mm: €999.99/$999.99
  • 47 mm: €999.99/$999.99
  • 51 mm: €1,099.99/$1,099.99

Additionally, there will be AMOLED 'Sapphire' SKUs for the same three sizes sold as the Fenix 8 AMOLED Sapphire GPS for $100 surcharges over their regular counterparts. For reference, Garmin is rumoured to justify this price increase by including sapphire crystal rather than Corning Gorilla Glass as protection across their AMOLED panels.

On the other hand, there will be non-AMOLED SKUs dubbed 'Fenix 8 Solar Sapphire GPS' that also feature sapphire crystal and solar charging in their construction. As far we can tell, these are the Fenix 8 series' reputed Memory in Pixel (MIP) variants, which Garmin will restrict to 47 mm and 51 mm sizes. Allegedly, these will match their AMOLED siblings at €1,099.99/$1,099.99 and €1,199.99/$1,199.99, respectively, when they land on August 27.
