The Galaxy S22 series will showcase the much-awaited Exynos 2200 in all its glory next year but it appears most buyers of the lineup will get the Snapdragon 898 instead, with a new leak tipping only European models of the phones to be powered by the Exynos 2200.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 will be released in February 2022. Details of the phones have leaked extensively recently, and the latest leak gives some much-needed information on the chipsets that will power the lineup across the various markets where it will be available.

According to tipster Front Tron, it appears Samsung will use the Snapdragon 898 almost exclusively on the Galaxy S22. The leaker, usually spot-on with Samsung leaks, specifies that the Snapdragon 898 will be used on the North American model of the Galaxy S22 series. The Hong Kong, Korean, and Chinese models are tipped as "highly likely" to get the Snapdragon 898. Interestingly, the Indian model also looks likely to use the Qualcomm chipset, which could extend to models sold across Africa.

As it stands, only European models are confirmed to get the Exynos 2200. That shouldn't come as a surprise, as it appears Samsung is dealing with sub-par yield rates for the Exynos 2200 and its mRDNA GPU. Leaks from a few weeks ago also tipped the Galaxy Tab S8 series to use the Snapdragon 898 exclusively.
